The NOAA/NASA SSM/I Pathfinder Global Precipitation data set was generated and originally archived at the Marshall Space Flight Center. It was moved to the Goddard Space Flight Center Distributed Active Archive Center (GSFC DAAC) in the fall of 1996.
The Goddard DAAC maintains archives of SSM/I Pathfinder monthly, pentad (5-day), and daily mean precipitation rates (in HDF format) on anonymous FTP:
