First Storm of the Season get's a name!



Tropical Storm Andrea Accumulated rainfall from TRMM 3B42

The coastal storm off of the Northeastern Florida coast was briefly declared a tropical storm and given the first name of the season as Andrea. The storm lost deep convection as it moved southward and was downgraded to a subtropical storm. It is expected to dissipate in a day or two.

The image to the left is the total accumulated rainfall from May 08 to May 10 using the TRMM product 3B42RT in Giovanni's TOVAS.
