You are here: GES DISC Home Modeling Overview

Welcome to the data modeling and assimilation at NASA Goddard Earth Sciences Distributed Active Archive Center (GES DAAC).

Atmospheric, land and ocean observations from satellites, aircrafts, ships, and other sources are grouped, modeled or assimilated into various time scales varying from hourly to multi decadal and processed for visualization and analysis for user community. Assimilated data products will be available from GES DAAC.

Goddard Earth Observing System (GEOS) Data Assimilation System (DAS) supports a wide range of research activities and data assimilation products are generated for varieties of reanalysis data and parameters. The Global Modeling and Assimilation Office (GMAO) operational data assimilation run 4 times per day approximately 12 hours behind real-time. All the data products are generated at 1 degree (latitude) by 1.25 degree (longitude) spatial resolution. More information is available at GMAO. The latest data assimilation product:

Data from GEOS-5 will be available from the GES DAAC.
