Giovanni

Giovanni is a Web-based application interface developed by the GES DISC that provides a simple and intuitive way to visualize, analyze, and access vast amounts of Earth science data without having to download the data.

 

Giovanni MAIRS instances are customized Giovanni to explore remote sensed and modeled data easily for multi-disciplines to support MAIRS program. 

 

Giovanni NEESPI instances are customized Giovanni to support NEESPI program.  Due to large overlap of geographic area and similar scientific interesting, Giovanni instances created for supporting NEESPI program are valuable to MAIRS studies.

 MAIRS Monthly Global monthly satellite measurements and model outputs for atmosphere, land surface, and ocean, collected for studies over Asian Monsoon region, including air temperature, wind, precipitation, aerosols, etc. The spatial resolution of most products are about 1 degree.  See parameters list.
MAIRS Monthly Higher Resolution Monthly global 5.6km satellite land and oceanic measurements and regional 1km resolution data covering the Asian Monsoon region (0o-60oE, 60oE-150oE). See detailed paraemter list.
MAIRS_8day 8day global 5.6km and regional 1-km satellite land products over the Asian Monsoon region (0°-60°N, 60°E-150oE). See parameters list.
MAIRS Yearly Yearly satellite products. Current available products are land cover types, land cover dynamic, and nighttime lights at resolution of 5.6km (global) and 500m (Asia region). See parameters list.
NEESPI Monthly

Global monthly satellite measurements and model outputs for atmosphere, land surface, and cryosphere for studies over northern Euraia region, including aerosol optical depth, cloud properties, precipitation, vegetation index, soil moisture, fire counts, snow/ice frequency, etc

NEESPI Daily

Global daily satellite measurements and model outputs for atmosphere, land surface, including aerosol optical depth, cloud properties, ozone, surface temperature, etc.

WMS Service Portal

The NEESPI WMS Service Portal is designed to support NEESPI projects in sharing and exchanging geophysical imagery more efficiently. It enables a user to access images from different WMS services and overlay interested images together.

 

Google Earth Portal for Climate Study

The MAIRS Google Earth Portal for Climate Study is the prototype of a Web-based visualization tool, designed for accessing climate data and images from multiple data sources by using Google Earth and online data sharing technologies, such as WMS, GDS, and OPeNDAP.  The system is a result of collaboration between the NASA GES DISC MAIRS project and Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology (NUIST), China, a MAIRS regional partner.  A user can access simultaneously the station data archived on the local server (NUIST) and the remote sensing and model data from NASA along with Google Earth geographic information to conduct climate studies.
