SNOW PHASE-CHANGE HEAT FLUX

Other Names

None

Definition

It is the latent heat flux  associated with snow phase changes.

Latent heat is the energy required to change a substance from one state to another at constant temperature. When a substance changes from one state to another, latent heat is added or released in the process.

Applications

  1. Water cycle
  2. Energy cycle
  3. Weather forecast
  4. Climate prediction model
