SNOWFALL RATE

Other Names

None

Definition

Snowfall Rate is a measure of the intensity of snowfall. It is measured by calculating the amount of snow that falls to the earth surface per unit area per unit of time. It can also be expressed in the mass of water per unit area over a unit of time if the Snow Water Equivalent (SWE) is known

Applications

  1. Evaporation and runoff modeling
  2. Water cycle
  3. Energy cycle
  4. Weather forecast
  5. Climate prediction model
