Giovanni-3 Operation Technical Summary: Cross Section and Vertical Profile Renderer

Cross Section and Vertical Profile Renderer (Lat-Pressure or Lon-Pressure)

The cross section and vertical profile rendering serviceis designed to produce a cross-section (or profile if single lat or long is chosen) image.

Inputs:

  1. Geophysical Variable (the geophysical variable should be a 3D parameter and have the same vertical units)
  2. Area (Longitude, Latitude)
  3. 2 Pressure Levels (Upper and Lower)
  4. Time (Year,  Month, Day)

Outputs:

  • Lat or Lon along X-axis, pressure values along Y-axis
  • Labeled vertical cross-section for the specific time (averaged for multiple days)
  • For a single latitute or longitude value, the renderer generates a single profile rather than a cross-section

Input: HDF-EOS4

Output: Cross-section image (or profile)

 


Cross-Section and Vertical Profile Renderer (Time-Pressure)

The cross section plot rendering serviceis designed to produce a cross-section (or profile if the same Begin Time and Time are chosen) image.

Inputs:

  1. Geophysical Variables (the geophysical variable should be 3D parameter and have the same vertical units)
  2. Area (Longitude, Latitude)
  3. 2 Pressure levels (Upper and Lower)
  4. 2 Times (Begin Time and End Time)

Outputs:

  • Time along X-axis, pressure values along Y-axis
  • Labeled vertical cross-section for the given time period, averaged over chosen latitude and longitude
  • The renderer will generate a single profile if the  Begin Time and End Time are the same.

Input: HDF-EOS4

Output: Cross-section image (or profile)
