Near-Real-Time Rain Imagery from TRMM and Giovanni for September East Coast storm

The remnants of Tropical Storm Nicole, combined with a northward flow of tropical moisture from the Caribbean Sea, produced a heavy rainfall event along the U.S. East Coast.   Near-real-time rainfall accumulation and rain rate images are shown here for this event.   These images are generated by the Goddard Interactive Online Visualization ANd Analysis Infrastructure (Giovanni).  The data product utilized for these images is the Experimental Real-Time TRMM Multi-Satellite Precipitation Analysis (TMPA-RT), 3B42RT for short.   "Z" for the times given below is Zulu Time, also known as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
