The January-February 2015 issue of The Giovanni News is now available online.

In this issue:

 

  • Nighttime MODIS Surface Temperatures in Europe - a Federated Giovanni Preview:  The Land Processes Distributed Active Archive Center (DAAC) will provide vegetation indices and surface temperatures as part of the Federated Giovanni project.  An image from the test environment shows the quality of their data sets.
  • Giovanni Publication Count for 2014:   In 2014, 226 peer-reviewed journal papers citing the use of the Giovanni system were published.  The total number of peer-reviewed publications using Giovanni is now 1,086.  Three papers published late in 2014 are summarized. 
  • Taking the Cake (2014 GES DISC “Top 10” Highlights):  The annual compilation of highlights from the GES DISC's year was put  on a cake this year, which was consumed at the 2015 Goddard Space Flight Center Science Poster Party. 
  • OMI Data Portal Transfers from G3 to G4:  The first full data portal in Giovanni-3, for data from the Ozone Measuring Instrument (OMI), has been transferred to Giovanni-4
