The 2nd International Conference on Agro-GeoInformatics is hosted by George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.

GES DISC contributes to Agro-GeoInformatics 2013

 

George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia is hosting the 2nd International Conference on Agro-GeoInformatics, 'Information for Sustainable Agriculture', from August 12-16, 2013.  Several staff members from the NASA Goddard Earth Sciences Data and Information Services Center are supporting the conference as committee members, session chairs, or presenters.

Steven Kempler, Zhong Liu, Wengli Yang, Aijun Chen, and Peisheng Zhao are members of the conference's Scientific Steering Committee.  Liu, Yang, Chen, and Zhao are affiliated with George Mason University. 

On Monday, August 12, Zhong Liu is the chairman of the session entitled "Acquisition, processing, and information extraction of Remotely Sensed Data".  During this session, he will give the presentation Developing New Features to Enhance NASA GES DISC Global Agriculture Information System, co-authored by William Teng, Steven Kempler, and Dana Ostrenga.

On Wednesday, August 14, Aijun Chen will present Extending Data Provenance in OGC Catalogue Service in the session on "Interoperability and standards in agricultural information systems".  His co-authors are Peng Yue, Genong Yu and Liping Di.
