SIMBIOS-NASDA-OCTS On-line Data Products

Welcome to the SIMBIOS-NASDA-Ocean Color and Temperature Scanner (OCTS) data access system at the Goddard DAAC! This data set consists of satellite measurements of global and regional Earth radiance data obtained by OCTS on the Japanese National Space Development Agency (NASDA) Advanced Earth Observation Satellite, also called "Midori". OCTS operated from November 1996 through June, 1997, preceding the SeaWiFS mission. The data, primarily intended for use by marine researchers, provide information that can be used to investigate biological productivity in the ocean, marine optical properties, the human influence on the oceanic enviroment, etc. All data files are in Hierarchical Data Format (HDF) and can be processed with SeaDAS. This data set was created by a collaboration of the NASA SeaWiFS and SIMBIOS Projects and NASDA.
