Cloud Phase

Definition

It indicates whether the cloud is in liquid or ice phase
Cloud particle phase varies greatly from cloud to cloud. The cloud constituent may consist of water, ice, or mixed. Cloud particle phase plays an important role in the retrieval of other cloud properties, calculation of radiative flux in climate models, and transport of energy (latent heat) in the earth-atmosphere system.
