Important: TRMM 2A12 Data Production has Resumed

From TSDIS/PPS: TRMM 2A12 products have been verified by the science team and production has resumed.  The backlog of 2A12 products since the production hold is now up to date.

The version 7 2A12 products produced after the data hold (October 05,2011)now use the AVHRR only SST as an ancillary data source to process 2A12v7 and 2A12RTv7.

The AMSR-E data is no longer used as an additional input source in this product. The AMSR-E antenna stopped spinning at 0726GMT Oct 4, most likely due to aging lubricant in the mechanism.  AMSR-E is currently not producing any data.  The Aqua spacecraft accommodated the spin-down, which occurred
over a period of about 25 minutes, and continues to operate normally, with all other instruments functioning in science mode.  NASA will work with JAXA to understand the condition of the AMSR-E instrument and possible future steps.
