OVERVIEW

GES DISC has developed two types of web-based subsetting systems:
+ The On-Demand Subset system (ODS) places orders to the long term tape archive, where all data for the missions durations are kept. Users receive email notification when the subset data are ready for pick-up or have been pushed to the User's host.
+ The On-the-fly system (OTF) works with the GES DISC on-line data storage only, where portions of the most popular data products are stored. The advantage of this subset service is that it is instantaneous, and the only wait time is that of the data download.

OMI Level 2 Spatial and Parameter Subsetting Services
OTF spatial subsetting for Aura/OMI Level 2 products by 9 parameters (ColumnAmountO3, UVAerosolIndex, SO2index, Reflectivity331, Reflectivity360, CloudFraction, CloudTopPressure, O3BelowCloud, NValue). Subsetted product also includes AlgorithmFlags, QualityFlags and Wavelength parameters.

AIRS Level 2 Channel and Parameter Subsetting Services
Subsetting by ~17 parameters for Aqua/AIRS Level 2 standard final retrieval (in 28 pressure levels) and support (in 100 pressure level) products. Subsetting by over 2000 channels for Level 2 Cloud-Cleared IR radiances product.
