Giovanni Analysis Tool

Giovanni is a Web-based online visualization and analysis tool developed for display, data mining, and direct download of the selected parameters (Level 2 or Level 3 products). http://giovanni.gsfc.nasa.gov/

Aura & TOMS Read Programs

The GES DISC provides read software for accessing Aura and TOMS  data files stored in the EOS Heirarchical Data Format (HDF-EOS 5).

  • The software 'read_h5' is written in the C language. You will need the HDF5 libraries when you compile the source code. The program allows users to select a parameter, latitude range, and dump the data to screen, ASCII file.
  • The software 'atmos_h5' is an IDL based code. This program not only creates the parameter subsets (with option of converting data to geophysical parameters) and writes in ASCII or binary format, it also displays quicklook image on the screen and creates jpeg file.
  • The read software for accessing TOMS level 3 daily gridded products (ASCII Format) are also available from the GES DISC. Please see the table below for additional software which can be used to read Aura and TOMS data.


UARS Read Programs

The GES DISC provides read software to access the UARS level 3 data. Source code is written in both C and Fortran, as well as IDL. These programs allow users to dump the data to screen or to an ASCII file. There are also programs for reading the level 2 HALOE and PEM data files.
