Data Description

AIRS Monthly Global 1.0°x1.0° Products

The Current AIRS Monthly Global data are derived from Level-3 Daily Global Gridded data product. AIRS Leval 3 files contain geophysical parameters that have been binned and averaged into 1x1 grid cells. Data are seperated into ascending and descending portion of the orbit, where 'ascending' or 'descending' refers to direction of the satellite at equatorial crossing. Outside of the polar zones, these correspond respectively to daytime and nighttime. The details of AIRS data processing are available in the User's Guide prepared by the AIRS science team.
