CCN
Definition
Cloud Condensation Nuclei (CCN) are fine aerosol (sea-salt, sulfate, soil, dust, smoke) particles which can
serve as the nuclei upon which water vapor condenses in the atmosphere at supersaturation state
(typical of atmospheric cloud formation).
CCN show diurnal variations, with a minimum in the morning and a maximum in the evenings.
