IMPORTANT MESSAGE - Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS) Near-Real Time (NRT):
November 25, 2009 All Systems for AIRS are Nominal.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE - Microwave Limb Sounder (MLS) Near-Real Time (NRT):
November 25, 2009 All Systems for MLS are Nominal.
November 24, 2009 There was a minor delay in receiving NRT data from the provider, the GES DISC received two orbits together for time frame Nov 23, 2009 22:25 through Nov 24, 2009 00:10.
Welcome to the GES DISC Near Real-time (NRT) Data home page. We currently offer the following data products:
AIRS NRT Products
AIRS NRT data products are currently available for Level-1B and Level-2, and are specially useful for users whose primary interest is the low latency for data availability. While operational data (above) are available within 3 days of observation, NRT data are usually available within 3 hours of observation. However, there is no commitment for a complete NRT data record. For example, if NRT data are delayed by more than 24 hours, they will not be processed.
- AIRS NRT images for CO, SO2 and RGB are available via Web Map Service (WMS).
MLS NRT Products
MLS NRT Level-2 temperature and ozone data products are currently available from the GES DISC. The MLS NRT algorithm uses a simplified fast linearized forward model and subsequently are not as accurate as the retrievals that constitute the standard MLS products, but nevertheless the results are scientifically useful. The NRT data are typically created within 3-5 hours and are broken into files containing about 15 minutes of data. The 10 most recent days of MLS NRT data are kept online for users to download. After this users should download the standard Level-2 temperature and ozone data products.
