Accessing your data through the GES DISC web site may seem a little unfamiliar to you to these days, but we can assure you, your data is all still available. The location of the data in the online archive has not changed.

The GES DISC has implemented a new interactive interface to make finding data easier than ever. We've added features like searching by keywords, filtering by criteria such as measurements, processing level and spatial resolution, and sortable data columns so now you can fine tune your search results. To get you started we put together a Help document to introduce you to the new interface. The Sounder PEATE, or SNPP Sounder PEATE, is one of six PEATEs formed by NASA to support NASA Science Teams studying instrument data from the Soumi NPP (previously known as NPP) satellite. The Simultaneous Nadir Observation (SNO) products enable comparisons of simultaneously observed data from similar instruments deployed on different satellites is a useful technique for assessing instruments calibration. SNO products contain simultaneous nadir radiance observations for the set of similar temperature-profiling instruments deployed on “AM satellites” ( MetOp-A, MetOp-B) and “PM satellites“ (Aqua, SNPP, NOAA-18 and NOAA-19). The CalSub product files are constructed from calibrated radiance files (infrared and microwave) from either the SNPP, Aqua or MetOP-A/B. Nominally one logical file is constructed for a 24-hour period, from midnight to midnight of the following day. This file is split into a set of four physical files to support specific concept studies and to further minimize the need to handle extraneous data. The four files are Clear fields of view, Fixed calibration sites (ARMS sites), Clouds and extreme conditions, and Randomly selected spectra within 3-degrees of nadir. The Level 3 (L3) Product provides global cylindrical grids summarizing Level-2 (L2) data from a given instrument suite for one day, 8-consecutive days, or one month. Data on such a grid is easier to visualize and to compare to data from other instruments and from forecasts and climate models. The PEATE Level 3 products contain retrieved L2 surface pressure, total water and ozone columns, and vertical profiles of temperature and water vapor averaged over a uniform set of latitude, longitude grid cells accumulated over daily, 8-day or monthly time scales. Separate Level 3 files are prepared based on the output of the microwave-only retrieval (MW), and the combined microwave and infrared retrieval (IRMW). The IRMW file includes the infrared-retrieved ozone column.
